The Maker's Diet
Oaklyn Plantation Chicken is featured in The Maker's Diet, a best-selling book and refreshing new approach to health and wellness.

Jordan S. Rubin has written a comprehensive new book designed to power your body, mind and spirit.  The easy to follow diet and lifestyle plan gives you the tools to create healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes that will transform your health and last a lifetime.  One key is starting with healthy foods -- and Oaklyn Plantation Free Range Chickens are proud to be associated with The Maker's Diet. We have shipped chicken and chicken feet (which are an important ingredient in a healthful broth) to many individuals nationwide who are seeking better well-being through healthful eating and lifestyles.  Please see our order form to place an order or to request more information.

Usually an order for feet is preceded by  "I can't believe I am ordering chicken feet.  How do you use them?" Fear not.  Our feet are prepared at a USDA inspected plant.  Many cultures commonly use feet in their cooking and fine chefs have valued them for the good they add to chicken broths. The chicken soup recipe recommended in Jordan Rubin is called Brasco Broth.  I have made it several times and it has been a little different each time.  One time the ginger flavor was so strong the soup was tasty to only a few hardy souls.

We offer feet with an order of chicken.  A good small starter box has two chickens and 32 feet - enough feet to last a while and two excellent chickens for you to try.    We think our chicken is among the best in the country.  We attribute this to their being a real free range chicken.  If you are buying our chicken for your health we wish you the best and hope it contributes to your comfort and recovery.

****Some of you who are trying to treat a GI condition will tell me they feel a bit alone and are feeling their way along.  If you go to www.yahoogroups.com and do a search for your particluar malady you will find several groups that might be of some help or comfort to you.  I have not checked out any particular group but when I did a search for Crohn's Disease I found over 100 groups.  Let me know if any of these is more helpful than others.
