We first learned of CFSA in the early 1990's and have learned a lot from the other farmers, consumers and passionate people in this organization. It was through CFSA that we made the connections which led to our moving to South Carolina.  David has served on the Board of Directors. In 2003, he received the Farmer of the Year award given annually at the CFSA Conference.

The American Pastured Poultry Producers Association serves producers and consumers of "real" free range chicken.  Free range chicken by USDA definition is simply chickens with access to the outside -- in other words, there's not a requirement about how much time is spent on range, what kind of range is made available and so forth.  Therefore, many of us in the industry now use the term "pastured poultry" to indicate chicken which is truly ranged.

Nu Dimensions Nutrition introduced us to the raw pet food diet.  I was her first supplier of raw chicken.  Go here for more information on raw pet feeding and a more complete line of pet food products.

Robert Plamondon offers good information on raising pastured poultry and offers some good books on old fashioned poultry management.
